Thanks to Rod Crittenden of the Michigan Floral Association

Jan 25, 2014

Over the last few weeks I've been working a lot with Rod Crittenden (CEO of the Michigan Floral Association, organizer of the Great Lakes Floral Expo and possibly some other things that haven't been announced yet) as we finalized participation in the 2014 GLFE and (for the first time) WUMFA Annual Convention.

This year at GLFE FloristWare will be sponsoring two sessions from Doug Bates – the Friday Night Main Stage show and a hands-on Design Workshop on Sunday. I will be doing a session on pricing strategies and we'll also have a booth on the show floor.

In addition to that we are all sponsoring Tim Huckabee of FloralStrategies at the WUMFA Annual Convention just a few weeks later. This is our first involvement with this show and we're very excited to be able to provide this content – Tim's sessions are always very informative and popular.

Getting all this in place involved a lot of back and forth with Rod and, even though it ends up costing a lot of money, working with him is a true pleasure. The MFA is a great organization, the GLFE is a fantastic show and it is an honor to be involved with both.

It continues to amaze me that Michigan – one of the hardest hit states over the last several years – is home to arguably the best association and show in the industry. I credit that to Rod's leadership, his team including Cindy Ching, and the dedicated volunteers of the MFA.
